Bargain shoppers' day here " the first annual citywide golf clubs on sale

"We're really hoping this is the start of something big," said Greg Mytinger, Streetsboro Parks & Recreation Department director. Including the Streetsboro Senior Foundation's sale at City Hall, 9184 Route 43, there will be 56 garage sales registered with the city. There will probably be more garage sales taking place because some residents missed the registration deadline and others may decide to put off their garage sales to coincide with the citywide sale because there will be more bargain hunters cruising the city's neighborhoods than there would be on other summer weekends. "We're hoping that individuals will see the benefit of having a large community garage sale rather than everyone just having their own without all the advertising," said Mytinger. Bargain hunters can pick up maps and guides at City Hall, he said. Those who registered their sales gained access to some cheap advertising, he explained. For $8, participants receive a sign, publicity through the Streetsboro Parks & Recreation Department's 900-name email list and announcements in area newspapers and on radio stations, said Mytinger. "It's already gone out through our email newsletters and it's being sent out again this week," said Mytinger.
